The New York Times has an article about Sean Cardinal O’Malley of Boston who has started a blog to capture his 10-day adventures in Rome. He says that he recognises blogs as a great opportunity to communicate directly with people. Good on His Eminence I say!

After a number of weeks testing and playing, we’ve launched version 1.0 of this site. It’s a happy day!
So, from here on in, we’ll be looking to keep you all up to date with the latest links and commentary on the Catholic internet. We’ll also be looking to grow the Catholic.geek community. So, if you find a good story, or if you would like to join the team, drop us a line and we’ll get in touch.
In the meantime, enjoy the site!

Similar to what thecrane posted earlier: Mobile Gabriel is another excellent online readings site. The good thing about this one is Fr Shmitz (a rather cool priest over in the States) writes a reflection to go with each day!

Found a great site on digg today that covers off the 46 best ever freeware utilities. This site is great! When doing work for the Church, we always need to keep cost in mind. The best cost? Free!

I stumbled across an interesting site today that has the daily readings for the Church, as well as the various parts of the Divine Office. Not the prettiest site, Universalis seems to be pretty feature rich though – RSS, downloads, WAP and even AvantGo support! Well worth checking out.
